3. A brief history of the company
Maret started its projects in January 1984 under the leadership of KOÇ HOLDİNG A.Ş. primarily to answer the domestic need for meat and meat products produced under hygienic, modern conditions. Secondly, to produce meat and meat varieties needed for the balanced nourishment of Turkish society, under advanced hygienic conditions and with the latest technology. And finally, to create new export possibilities. A technical know-how and engineering agreement was signed with the French Sogelerg firm. Following a preliminary feasibility study carried out with the help of project team, native and foreign experts made long and detailed studies to arrive at the general outlines of the project.
