Pressure Losses In Pıpıng Systems

I. SUMMARY

The properties of the fluid flow are important for apparatus. Because of that the properties of fluid flow is affected to the all of the system. The pressure drop and friction in the pipes depend on the properties of the fluid flow.
The objective of this experiment is to investigate pressure losses resulted from:
1. Skin friction in straight pipes.
2. Form friction of different types of bends.
3. Form friction for gate and globe valves.
4. Form friction due to sudden expansion and contraction.
The apparatus, to prepare for this objective, has two pipes circuit. These circuits have different color for observing the direction of the fluid flow. To observe the pressure drop which is formed by friction, there are valves expansion, contraction and bends in the system.
