THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY MEASUREMENT
ABSTRACT
In the thermal conductivity experiment; three experiments are carried out to determine the thermal conductivities of metals (copper,aluminium) and insulation material (paper). Apparatus has been used to do this experiment. Electrical energy is given to the specimen and it transmits the electrical energy to the water by heating. It ‘s observed some deviations as a result of calculating by using data which is obtained at the end of the experiment. It ‘s considered the thermal conductivity of aluminium and insulated materials causes the heat loss to minimise because of very low thermal conductivity.
OBJECTIVES
The objective of this experiment is to determine the thermal conductivity of metals and insulation materials and to demonstrate that heat flow is directly proportional to temperature difference between faces and cross sectional area.
